It was another busy week on the transfer front as Europe’s top volleyball sides fine-tuned their squads ahead of the 2025–26 season. From the women’s #CLVolleyW contenders to Italy’s SuperLega powerhouses and Poland’s PlusLiga frontrunners, clubs moved decisively to blend emerging talent with proven performers in pursuit of both domestic and continental success.

Numia Vero Volley Milano has secured two of Italy’s brightest young prospects: 19-year-old middle blocker Nicole Modesti arrives, who shone in Italy’s youth team at the U19 European Championship three years ago, while American setter Kami Miner joins to share playmaking duties in Milano. Savino Del Bene Scandicci confirmed the consecutive season of Italian setter Giulia Gennari, who struggled with shoulder surgery last year. Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe Medicana Istanbul tapped into the international experience by adding 28-year-old opposite Yaasmeen Bedart-Ghani, who dominated the Korean V-League and earned Best Server honors in 2021–22. Finally, Developres Rzeszów bolstered its attack with 25-year-old American outside hitter Taylor Bannister, a Hungarian league and cup champion, who was also named MVP of the finals.

In Italy’s SuperLega, reigning champions Itas Trentino made their first moves by signing Spanish spiker Jordi Ramon on a one-year deal, who spent the last season at Cisterna. They also rewarded homegrown talent by promoting 17-year-old middle blocker Leonardo Sandu from their youth ranks after his impressive performance in Serie B. Cucine Lube Civitanova reinforced their central block with a two-year contract for 203 cm Belgian Wout D’heer, who earned a #CLVolleyM triumph with Trentino in 2023-2024 season.

PlusLiga heavyweights Jastrzębski Węgiel added three-time #CLVolleyM gold medalist outside hitter Adrian Staszewski, 35. They also strengthened their roster by signing American setter Joshua Tuaniga, 28, whose U.S. national team résumé includes Nations League and World Cup medals. Aluron CMC Warta-Zawiercie agreed to keep American opposite Kyle Ensing for another campaign after his successful debut season and confirmed that 213 cm middle blocker Adrian Markiewicz will remain following his developmental loans.

These strategic moves illustrate how clubs are blending youth and experience to build balanced, competitive rosters. With the promotion of academy stars, high-profile international signings, and key contract renewals, Europe’s volleyball elite is poised for one of its most exciting seasons yet.
