All the rumors of the biggest superstar in women’s volleyball came to an end: The MVP of the CEV Champions League Volley, Paola Egonu, parted her way with VakifBank Istanbul, and after a one-year break, she will come back to Italy, this time in Milano’s jersey.

The vice-champions of the Italian domestic league and national cup, Vero Volley Milano, completed the most important transfers of the upcoming season. Today, the club held a press conference announcing the agreement with the Italian opposite, Paola Egonu who attended the event.

In her first experience abroad, the 24-year-old Italian superstar joined VakifBank Istanbul’s squad and won two trophies, including the CEV Champions League Volley title. Egonu was also honored with the MVP award thanks to her outstanding performance throughout the season and the finals. Of course, the MVP of the Turkish Cup was also no other but her.

In addition to Egonu, Milano took two of the VakifBank’s outside hitters as well: American young promising talent Kara Bajema, and Dutch international Nika Daalderop will join Milano’s squad next season.

Milano had managed to play in the CEV Champions League Volley quarterfinals last season, and now they will want more with their brand new squad. Watching Paola Egonu is always a privilege, but it will definitely be worth watching how she will perform against her previous club in Italy, Imoco Volley Conegliano, and what she will contribute to Milano to reach their goals.
