This weekend, the most anticipated encounter in the women's European domestic leagues was played in Round 11 of the Polish Tauron Liga.

The country's two CEV Champions League Volley representatives, Developres SkyRes Rzeszow and Grupa Azoty Chemik Police took to the court to get the leading position in charts and psychological advantage over each other. As expected, there was a massive battle from beginning to end, but after about 2.30 hours, the host Rzeszow overpowered Chemik Police in five sets (3-2: 19-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-21, 16-14).

Therefore, Rzeszow took their tenth victory in the league; on the other hand, Chemik Police, who had their second defeat, maintained their leadership by one point ahead of their opponent.

Rzeszow's Polish young libero Aleksandra Szczygłowska showed an outstanding performance and was selected as the MVP of the match, while the top scorer was Serbian experienced opposite Jovana Brakocevic-Canzian with a total of 26 points on the losing side.

Another five-set thriller was held in the 12th Round of the Turkish Sultans League between CEV Champions League Volley newcomer THY Istanbul and Galatasaray HDI Sigorta. THY succeeded in winning the fight by 3-2 (25-16, 16-25, 19-25, 25-18, 15-6) thanks to their excellent performance in the tie-break.

Led by 22 points from the Canadian opposite Kiera Van Ryk, THY moved up to fourth place in charts. The young Romanian talent Alexia Ioana Carutasu tallied 23 points in total, but that was not enough for a win on the Galatasaray side.

Together with Turkey's other CEV Champions League Volley participants VakifBank Istanbul and Fenerbahçe Opet Istanbul, Italian squads A. Carraro Imoco Volley Conegliano, Igor Gorgonzola Novara, and Vero Volley Monza won their matches 3-0 without losing a single set and continued their ways in the national leagues perfectly.
