Savino Del Bene SCANDICCI lift the #CEVCupW trophy

After triumphing last year in CEV Challenge Cup, Savino Del Bene Scandicci added another trophy to their cabinet. On Wednesday night they beat CS Volei Alba Blaj in straight sets to win their maiden CEV Volleyball Cup - Women trophy!

Savino Del Bene Scandicci after last week's 3-1 victory entered the court at Palazzo Wanny FIRENZE with full confidence. Massimo Barbolini could count on his stars Ekaterina Antropova (6 points), Elena Pietrini (5) and Zhu Ting (4), who led the hosts from the beginning of the opener to its desivice phase. The players from Blaj - with Dajana Boskovic standing out from the rest of the line up (7 points) - started the game with some fear (3-8), but didn't give up and got more courage, reducing the distance a bit.
Savino Del Bene Scandicci had a flying start to the second set, taking 8-1 lead. The local favourites outclassed their rivals in all components and unhesitatingly marched for a set win and the CEV Cup trophy. Taking a 2-0 lead they could already celebrate their triumph, as it was enough to secure the trophy.
The Italian team powered by Ekaterina Antropova (8 points in this set) was highly eager to quickly seal the deal and take a straight-set victory. Dominating in all skills, they completed the game after 66 minutes.
Ekaterina Antropova was a top scorer of the match after tallying 20 points, including 15 kills (63% of success in attack), 4 aces, 1 block and was named the MVP.
