CEV EuroVolley 2026 | Men
Finland is entering a new era in Volleyball: the main venue for the CEV EuroVolley 2026 Men tournament has been confirmed as the iconic Nokia Arena in Tampere. For the first time in history, top-level Volleyball will take place in Finland’s largest and most modern indoor arena.
“This is a major milestone for Finnish Volleyball and our entire community. We are bringing the sport to a bigger stage than ever before. At the same time, this fulfills the CEV’s vision of showcasing top-level Volleyball in Europe’s most iconic and modern arenas. Nokia Arena was a stated goal already at the start of our previous strategic cycle, as highlighted by our President Lauri Inna – and now it’s becoming a reality,” says Riia Martinoja, Secretary General of CEV EuroVolley 2026 in Finland.
Nokia Arena offers world-class facilities for over 13,000 spectators. Hosting matches at this venue is a bold step in the long-term development of Finnish Volleyball – aiming for growth, greater visibility, and the engagement of new audiences.
“Our goal is clear: to fill Nokia Arena on Finland’s match days. This historic dream can only be achieved together – with support from the entire Volleyball family, sports fans across the country, and hopefully some luck in the draw to attract international fans to Tampere,” Martinoja continues.
Ambitious Sporting and Event Goals Ahead
The Finnish men’s national team will compete in the European Championships for the 10th time in a row – and the 21st time overall – thereby reflecting Finland’s strong Volleyball tradition. The 2026 tournament will mark the fourth time CEV EuroVolley is hosted in Finland. The most recent edition took place in 2021 at Hakametsä Ice Hall in Tampere. Now, the stage is set to reach a whole new level.
The collaboration with the City of Tampere is crucial for the tournament’s success. Nokia Arena’s central location and excellent accessibility offer an unforgettable experience for both Finnish and international fans.
The spirit of the tournament will be built together. All volleyball enthusiasts – junior players, current and former national team athletes, clubs, and volunteers – will be invited to take part in creating an unforgettable event. Successfully organised home matches can leave a lasting legacy and elevate the status of Volleyball in Finland.
“We are creating something never seen before in Finnish Volleyball. We want this tournament to be remembered for years to come. This is not just about sport – it’s a shared experience for all of Finland,” says Saku Köykkä, Project Leader of CEV EuroVolley 2026.
City of Tampere Plays a Key Role
“We are thrilled that Tampere will host CEV EuroVolley 2026. We are proud of what Nokia Arena has to offer. Tampere has strong experience in hosting major international events. This is a great opportunity to showcase not only top-level Volleyball but also Tampere’s appeal as a tourism and event destination,” says Perttu Pesä, Director of Major Events, City of Tampere.
