France is the 2024 Paris Men's Volleyball Olympic Champion

The All-European Olympic Men's Final saw the reigning European Champion, Poland face the reigning Olympic Champion, France it was surely going to be a blockbuster match, and it did not disappoint!

The first set saw France extremely focused and sharp, creating issues for their opponents from the first serve. This saw them take the lead through a well crafted passing game, curtesy of Antoine Brizard while Poland tried to keep close insisting more than usual on quick set for their middle blockers.

Towards the middle of the set, France broke a few points away and it was quite hard for Poland to get back in it, especially with their service game never really going well, a part of their game they usually rely (7 service errors for Poland/ 6 for France). It was an eruption of noise when France got the winning set point, crowd now well in their dream of winning the Gold.

The second set started much better for Poland, with star player Wilfredo Leon get his gears back, managing 3 points in the beginning of the second set, 1 more than the entirety of the first one. Despite the Polish being in front for most of the set, France was never too far back and that proved to be decisive towards the end of the set when the momentum shifted back to the blue side of the court. Clevenot was again outstanding for the French when they needed him the most, pushing his side to a second set win and one set away from defending their Gold Medal.

The third set was an absolutely epic display of volleyball at the highest level. From Aces, to blocks and unbelievable digs, everything was there, with both teams digging deep for every single play and changing turns in leading the set. It was France however that started running away with it again towards the end of the set, impact sub Jouffroy providing what he was sent on the court to do, three Aces in the space of minutes. Despite the best effort of Wilfredo Leon with his serve, saving four match points, it was France that claimed the third and final set, ensuring the Olympic Gold remains with them until 2028.
