Swiss Volley have announced Lauren Bertolacci, who has been at the helm of Viteos NEUCHATEL UC for a few years, as the newly appointed head coach of their women’s national team. Aïda Shouk, who currently works for Geneva Volleyball, will be her assistant. Shouk will hold the same function with the junior team as well, alongside head coach Frieder Strohm.

The two coaches know Swiss Volleyball very well. While Lauren Bertolacci, who is originally from Australia, coaches the multiple reigning Swiss champions of Viteos NEUCHATEL UC, former international Aïda Shouk has been working for two years as head coach at Geneva Volley.

“It is a great honour to represent the country that has become my homeland. Women’s Volleyball in Switzerland continues to improve and it is an exciting time to work with such a strong team. I am ready for this mission and I will assume this responsibility with great pride and dedication.”

Aïda Shouk is also enthusiastic: “I am very motivated! Joining the national team again - this time not as a player, but as an assistant coach is a dream come true! It will be an honour for me to represent Switzerland and I look forward to working with Lauren.”

Swiss Volley is delighted to have filled the vacant positions: “I am very satisfied with the commitment of these two coaches and convinced that Lauren and Aïda complement each other very well on a human level. Together, they will continue to develop the Swiss national team," comments Anne-Sylvie Monnet, Volleyball Sport Manager at Swiss Volley.
