Slovakia with a smooth win against Hungary in #EuroVolleyM Qualifiers

On Wednesday the new match of EuroVolley Qualifiers was played in Pool F between Slovakia and Hungary where the national team Slovakia won by 3:0 (25:20, 25:22, 25:22).

It was a clash of regular participants of the EuroVolley, Slovakia who has a chance for their ninth straight appearance, and Hungary who has been waiting to come back to elite competition since 2001. In the whole match, there were 41 winning spikes for the team Slovakia (53 %) and 34 winning spikes for the team Hungary (43 %).

The first set started off as a cat-and-mouse game where both teams were catching onto each other with every new point. The only separation that the team Slovakia managed to get was at the very end of the set where they separated to three points (19:16) which in the end led to five points advantage (25:20).

In the second set, Hungary took an early lead with 0-4 but Slovakia managed to equalize the set at 10:10, and from that point on it was again a cat-and-mouse game. The first separation happened at the very end of the set which finished by 25:22. This was also the set where Slovakia managed to score two aces.

In the third and last set, Hungary walked in a little bit better than their opponents where they had three points lead (4:7) but again Slovakia managed to get back to the game (9:9) and soon enough went into the lead (19:15). They’ve finished the set with 25:22 and closed the whole match.

The most outstanding player for the national team of Slovakia was opposite Peter Michalovič with 22 winning spikes, one ace and 23 scored points.
