Sport LISBOA e Benfica - Halkbank ANKARA
Sport LISBOA e Benfica
- Marcel Matz (SL Benfica coach): "Our goal is to try and win a game. It started that way, and it will end that way. When the draw came out, we knew how difficult this group would be, but we always planned to play game by game and try to give our best in every match. We're going to try to rectify some of the aspects that didn't go so well in the Turkey game to try to even out the match and play each set to the end."
- Nuno Marques (SL Benfica coach): "They're a powerful opponent. They've got players who, on the international volleyball scene, are rated as the best in the world. We know it's going to be a very difficult game, but I think that with our weapons and playing at home with the support of our fans, we can make a difference."

Sport LISBOA e Benfica - Halkbank ANKARA
Sport LISBOA e Benfica
- Felipe Banderó (SL Benfica player): "We played really good volleyball today. We were a bit unlucky in the fourth set, I think we missed a bit of experience there. In the end, the details made the difference. Benfica has made a great season in the Champions League, we played against good teams and showed our good level."
- Marcel Matz (SL Benfica head coach): "We know how hard every single game in the Champions League is, however, we think a lot about the future and the plan is make Benfica as great as these teams in the next 5/10 years. That's our main goal. We faced every team as equal, of course sometimes we lack some international experience, but I'm happy with the work developed by the players in every single match of the Champions League. They are always very focused and willing to play and that makes us think it's worthy playing in this competition."
Benfica v Halkbank ANKARA
- Slobodan Kovac (Halkbank Ankara head coach): "I knew before the game how hard it will be. Benfica play very well at home and after the first set, which we won easily, the players stopped to play. Benfica pushed really good in service and started to defend better, and we weren't able to find a solution in that situation. After the third set, we returned and today everybody enjoyed. We are happy because we won."
- Nimir Abdel-Aziz (Halkbank Ankara player and MVP): "We already knew that it was going to be a difficult game because Benfica played good at home against all the teams in the group. We started really well but after we lost a little bit of focus and they started to serve really well, causing problems in our reception and we also started making errors in the attack. We get the energy better and started to play a little bit better to close the match."
