- Jihostroj won all seven home matches in the Czech Extraliga with a score of 3:0 and didn’t lose a single set. The only match they lost at home was one in CEV Champions League against Jastrzebski Wegiel.
- Jihostroj is now in fifth place in the Czech Extraliga, but started the new year with a great 3-0 victory against Kladno, the second best team in the standing.
- The match against Kladno had an above-average attendance – almost 1,500 spectators. At least a similar attendance is expected in the Champions League against Lüneburg.
- Eduardo Carísio, the first setter and captain of the team, returned to Jihostroj starting six after a month-long break caused by an injury. All of Jihostroj players are healthy.
- Jihostroj has an unusually busy schedule of home matches after the new year –January 6, January 9, January 13, January 17, January 20. All very tough matches.
- Jihostroj is waiting for its first victory in this year's CEV Champions League. They must win against Lüneburg to keep to chance for further promotion in the European Cups.
- Andrzej Kowal (Head Coach of Jihostroj): "We didn't know what our shape was at the beginning of the new year because we hadn't played for a long time. But the match against Kladno was a great success, thanks to the support of many fans. We are doing well at home and we clearly want to succeed on Tuesday and claim our first victory in the Champions League."

- Attendance in České Budějovice was over a thousand spectators for the second time in a row and third time in this season – 1068.
- MVP: Ignacio Luengas – 20 points (most from both teams), 74 % on attack

- With the victory Jihostroj still have the chance to go further in European Cups. The crucial match will be next Wednesday against Guaguas.
- First CEV Champions League victory for Jihostroj since 13. 2. 2020 (3-0 against Fenerbahce).
- Andrzej Kowal (Head Coach of Jihostroj): "I was worried because in the first match we had a big problem with reception. Lüneburg has good servers. We had a good first set. We have a lot of chances to attack, we divide the attack between two players - Nacho Luengas and Alejandro González and that's enough. We also had good efficiency. We are really happy for the first victory. We'll see next week against Guaguas. Maybe even two wins are not enough, but I'm happy with this one for sure."

- Stefan Hübner (Head Coach of Lüneburg): "The better team won today. We had no effect with our serving game and then it's really hard to play against a good setter. We had some moments. Our blocking game was really undisciplined. We had a lot of blocks that went out. Then it was difficult. We weren't able to create momentum strength on our side. Congratulations to Budějovice."
