Vojvodina crowned Serbian champions for six straight season

Vojvodina NS Seme NOVI SAD triumphed again in the Serbian men’s national league to secure their 19th title overall – and sixth straight such success. Vojvodina defeated Spartak SUBOTICA in the fourth match of the final play-off, doing so in three sets (25-17, 25-19, 25-17) to secure their third victory in the championship series.

In a fantastic atmosphere, in front of 2,000 spectators at Spens Arena in Novi Sad, Vojvodina convincingly pocketed their sixth consecutive title from the Banka Postanska Stedionica (Postal Savings Bank) Superleague.

Mr Zoran Gajić, President of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, awarded the coveted winners’ trophy to Andrija Vilimanović, team captain of Vojvodina. Mr Ivan Knezević, Secretary General of the Volleyball Federation of Serbia, presented Nemanja Jungić, team captain of Spartak, with the consolation plaque for the silver medallists.

“I think we deserved this trophy. This was a really intense season and Serbian Volleyball is constantly growing; we are definitely going in the right direction. It was really competitive. Our rivals, Spartak, gave 100% in this final, and I would really like to congratulate them on their effort. As for my team, I am really proud of my teammates, we reacted well after the defeat we suffered in the third match, and we deservedly won the championship title."
