KhMOMM and FIMA claim Armenian national cup titles

Yerevan, Armenia, March 22, 2021. The 2021 edition of the Armenian national cup took place this past weekend at ASUE stadium in the country’s capital, Yerevan, with participation of four teams per gender.
The teams representing KhMOMM, Van, BSU and Avan fought for the top honours in the women’s competition, with KhMOMM emerging victorious in the end after they had the upper hand against all of their three opponents. Veronika Koshkaryan (KhMOMM), Anna Galustyan (Van) and Sona Sahakyan (BSU) received the awards at stake for the top players of the competition.
The teams representing FIMA and KhMOMM were the top contenders for the men’s trophy and they locked horns on March 20, delivering a very tense and entertaining match. The roster of Team KhMOMM included many young and promising players, but the more experienced FIMA representatives were able to produce a 3-1 victory in the end, which paved the way to their overall success in the competition. The teams of NUACA and Gyumri finished the tournament in third and fourth place, respectively. Vahe Nazaryan (KhMOMM), Andre Simoni (NUACA) and Arman Miskaryan (FIMA) received the prizes for the most valuable players of the event.
On Monday, March 22, the draw for the 2021 Armenian Men’s National Volleyball Championship took place. As per decision of the Volleyball Federation of Armenia, the event consists of four rounds played in April-June and September-November. The same format will apply to the 2021 edition of the Armenian Women’s National Championship as well.
