Following last year’s postponement of the Continental Cup Phase 2, the event that was due to deliver the second stage of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Qualifiers returns to the forefront. Earlier this year the CEV Board of Administration reconfirmed the three hosts of this highly anticipated event, and now Baden (Austria), Madrid (Spain) and Izmir (Turkey) will be the centres of attention during four days of competition (6-9 May) for beach volleyball fans around the world and athletes hoping to maintain their Olympic dreams alive.

The Continental Cup Phase 2 will feature teams from 24 National Federations per gender, including the top eight nations from the European Ranking, which did not take part in the opening stage of the competition, which took place in 2019. Teams from eight countries will compete in each pool and battle for a spot in the final stage of the competition.

The Final Phase of the Continental Cup will be played on the beach of Scheveningen in the dutch city of The Hague from June 23 to 26, 2021. The winners of this competition played according to the ‘country vs. country’ format will secure a spot for their National Federation / National Olympic Committee to compete at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

In the upcoming days, the CEV will stream live on Youtube – European Volleyball from the three locations all matches from the semi-finals of the competitions onwards.
