Snow Volleyball News
After last year’s success, the organiser Malå IF had made plans for an even better COOP SnowVolley Cup event this year. It is not an overstatement to say that they managed to achieve their goal. More teams from neighbouring clubs, improved logistics for the audience and a committed speaker/DJ were the keys in their efforts to bring the event to the next level. Perfectly prepared courts and optimal weather conditions also helped to make players and volunteers express their wish to immediately plan for next year with renewed ambition.
When the COOP SnowVolley Cup 2024 matches started, it was cloudy, the temperature standing at -6 degrees and the wind was blowing at 2 m/s. During the day, sun broke through the clouds and the temperature reached zero degrees, thereby securing perfect conditions for the players and the crowd filling up the arena. While some teams played at an elite level, others compensated their lack of skills with their enthusiasm. The whole event was played in a generous and welcoming atmosphere. With the semifinals and finals, the matches got tighter, and several sets ended by the score of 20-18.
Special thanks go to the organising team headed by Maria Larsson and Johan Grensell. They have managed to build a strong and effective organisation that works with much enthusiasm. They are now exploring possibilities not only to develop their own event, but also to involve all the clubs from the region.
