This title was the first achieved solo after the end of the AJM/FC PORTO partnership, which had produced three consecutive titles for the team resulting from the merger of Academia José Moreira and FC PORTO. Even though the series ended with a 3-0 victory for FC PORTO, this matchup was still a great promotion of women’s Volleyball and testament to the high level of performance shown in the Portuguese national league this year. Victória Pinto (FC PORTO) with 19 points, and Inês Pereira (C. Efanor) with 13, were the game’s top scorers.

Joana Resende, captain of FC PORTO, celebrated her fourth consecutive national league title dressed in blue and white: “We never take anything for granted, as we never know when the next title will be, but there have been as many as seven since this project began. Season after season, the players, the technical team, and the rest of the staff have all shown that they are worthy of representing a big club like FC PORTO. We always want more, but we must appreciate all achievements, and this is a day of celebration. The message was always the same since August and we always believed in our work; we believed that we were better than everybody else and that we would honour the shirt and win the title together.”
