The 2023 Beach Volleyball season has been further extended into late October following the addition of two more international events. Single-gender Futures will be taking place in Mallorca, Spain, with the women taking to the court from October 18-22 followed by the men’s competition, which will run from October 25-29 at the very same venue.

Mallorca is well-known as a very popular holiday destination and is an ideal location where to contest a Beach Volleyball competition even in the autumn. The events scheduled for late October add up to similar tournaments organised earlier this year in Spain’s capital, Madrid, according to the very same format – splitting the competition between the two genders instead of running a double-gender competition.

The two Futures will mark the return of international Beach Volleyball to Mallorca after a very long time – even though the island has recently become ‘home’ to an annual event delivered by the International Veteran Volleyball Association (IVVA) gathering some of the old glories of the sport.

With the addition of the Mallorca Futures to the international calendar, the European Beach Volleyball season experiences a further expansion – thereby providing up-and-coming teams with even more opportunities to compete internationally and collect much-needed ranking points, especially with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games now fully on the horizon.
