All semifinalists in #CLVolleyW became clear yesterday, and we will all watch two huge clashes between Turkish and Italian powerhouses. Now, the top four squads in the continent turn their eyes again to their domestic leagues. While it will be an easy weekend for three of them, this will not be the case for Fenerbahce.

The first semifinalist of the CEV Champions League Volley, Fenerbahce Opet Istanbul, will face VakifBank Istanbul in the 22nd round of the Turkish Sultanlar League. Fenerbahce lastly beat Allianz MTV Stuttgart in four sets in the rematch of a 3-2 defeat and became the first team to advance to the next round. The champion of the last two editions, VakifBank, on the other hand, failed against Imoco and said goodbye to the tournament.

Both teams have the same record (20-1) in the regular season so far, but Fenerbahce is in the lead now since they have three more points than their biggest rivals. Stefano Lavarini’s squad will surely aim to keep the same momentum and increase the gap, with the new joiner Turkish superstar Melissa Abreu Vargas. On the other hand, VakifBank is now trying to focus entirely on the national league to close the season with a gold medal. Therefore, one thing is for sure that both teams will put a great effort on the court, and we will watch some good volleyball actions.

The other Turkish team that secured their place in the semifinals of the most prestigious tournament in Europe is Eczacibasi Dynavit Istanbul. By once again passing Italian Savino Del Bene Scandicci in five sets, Tijana Boskovic and her friends keep their journey alive. This weekend, they will host Nilufer Belediyespor, and they surely want to benefit from the other big match to become the new leaders in Türkiye.

Except for Scandicci, the remaining two Italian clubs booked their ticket for the CEV Champions League Volley semifinals. This weekend, both of them will hold matches opposed to relatively weaker opponents: The unbeaten A. Carraro Imoco Volley Conegliano will visit Casalmaggiore, and Vero Volley Milano will meet Roma in the 22nd leg of the Italian Serie A1 Women.

By overpowering VakifBank Istanbul (Imoco) and LKS Commercecon Lodz (Milano) in the second quarterfinal game as well, the Italian squads became the last two semifinalists of the #CLVolleyW. They are currently standing in the top two positions in the main season in their country as well, and the goal is to continue in the same way.

We followed four outstanding clashes in #CLVolleyW this week, but if you still want to spend your time with a good volleyball on the weekend, you should definitely keep an eye on Türkiye, where Fenerbahce and VakifBank face off.
