After securing their spots in the #CLVolleyW semifinals, VakifBank and Novara will take the court against quite strong teams this weekend in their domestic leagues, while it will be a relatively comfortable round for Fenerbahce and Eczacibasi.

The reigning CEV Champions League Volley titleholders VakifBank Istanbul, will visit THY Istanbul in the 21st week of the Turkish Sultalar League.

VakifBank lastly defeated Vero Volley Milano and booked their tickets in the #CLVolleyW semifinals, while they are also in the vice-leader position in their domestic league. THY, on the other hand, recently said goodbye to the CEV Cup in the semifinals after failing to pass Savino Del Bene Scandicci. They are currently in fourth place, just behind Fenerbahce. From now on, they will entirely focus on their domestic tournaments; this will be a good opportunity for THY to show how strong they are against one of the most elite teams on the continent.

Other CEV Champions League Volley quarterfinalist from Turkey will have a comparatively comfortable weekend: Fenerbahce Opet Istanbul, who advanced to the semifinals after beating the last SuperFinalist A. Carraro Imoco Volley Conegliano, will face Çukurova Belediyesi. Undefeated leader of the national league, Eczacibasi Dynavit Istanbul will meet Aydın BBSK, and they aim to continue their way without any surprising defeat.

There will also be an anticipated clash in Italy: The only Italian team remaining in the CEV Champions League Volley, Igor Gorgonzola Novara, will play against Vero Volley Milano in the 24th week of the Italian Serie A1 Women.

By defeating German Allianz MTV Stuttgart with a clear score of 3-0, Stefano Lavarini’s squad qualified for the semifinals of the #CLVolleyW. In contrast, Milano’s journey came to an end after they suffered a loss against VakifBank in the tie-break in the rematch.

Both teams have 17 victories in 23 matches in the national league, but the Milano side ranked one place ahead because they received seven points more so far. Thus, it will be a good opportunity for Novara to start closing this point gap.

The week with full of volleyball will be completed with matches worth following in Türkiye and Italy, where VakifBank and Novara will seek a victory against their strong opponents. At the same time, Fenerbahce and Eczacibasi want to finish the weekend with straight-set wins.
