Japanese star Mayu Ishikawa transfers to Eczacibasi Dynavit

In a flurry of such announcements, #CLVolleyW runners-up Eczacibasi Dynavit have confirmed the addition of Japanese outside hitter Mayu Ishikawa to their roster for the 2026/2027 season. 

Commenting on the transfer, General Manager Bilun Yilmaz highlighted Ishikawa’s leadership and international experience: “As the captain of the Japanese national team, Mayu Ishikawa carries significant responsibility at the highest level of the game. We believe her experience, discipline, and leadership will bring tremendous value to our team. The knowledge and international experience she has gained throughout her career will be extremely important for us in the new season. With her consistency and high Volleyball IQ, we believe she will play a key role in helping us achieve our goals.”

One of the leading figures of Japanese Volleyball, Mayu Ishikawa was born in 2000 and has played for Toray Arrows, Il Bisonte Firenze and Igor Gorgonzola Novara throughout her professional career. Having achieved success in the Japanese League, Empress’ Cup, Kurowashiki Tournament and CEV Cup, Ishikawa joins Eczacibasi Dynavit after building an impressive career in both Japan and Italy.

A cornerstone of the Japanese national team, Ishikawa has represented her country in major international tournaments including the Volleyball Nations League (VNL), FIVB World Championship and Olympic Games. Renowned for her ball control, defensive consistency, and ability to excel in fast-paced offensive systems, she has become one of Japan’s most influential players. She was widely regarded as one of the standout performers of the Japanese squad during the road to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
