This weekend, the final clashes were played in the most elite domestic leagues of the continent: As expected, the pre-favorites Jastrzebski and Perugia stood out at the top of the podium, while BR Volleys completed their huge comeback with a historic title in Germany.

The champions of the regular season and this year’s #CLVolleyM SuperFinalist, Jastrzebski Wegiel, once again faced Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie in the third game of the Polish PlusLiga playoff finals. After a defeat in four sets, this time Jastrzebski side started to play strong from the first ball to the last. This resulted in a massive victory by a score of 3-1 (25-19, 21-25, 25-23, 25-18), and they managed to complete the national season with a trophy and maintain their title in their country.

French opposite of the winning side, Jean Patry became the top scorer of the fierce battle, with 17 points in total, followed by Polish stars Tomasz Fornal (16 points) and Norbert Huber (15 points). Bartosz Kwolek’s 17 points were not enough for Zawiercie side to victory.

We have also learned the Italian champions this weekend: Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia and Mint Vero Volley Monza took the court against each other for the fourth round of the Italian SuperLega finals. In fact, Monza side began the match quite powerful, and took the first set without any difficulties. However, starting from the second set, the Perugia team showed their top-level volleyball, and by winning the following three sets, they took the gold medal after six years.

The star setter of the winning side, Italian Simone Giannelli, was selected as the Most Valuable Player. Polish international Wilfredo Leon led his team to this important success with 25 points in total, and Canadian Stephen Maar tallied 20 points for Monza.

The best team also became clear in Germany: The first-placed team of the primary phase, Berlin Recycling Volleys, fell behind to 2-0 against VfB Friedrichshafen in the playoff final stage of the German 1. Bundesliga. On the other hand, they succeeded in extending the series to the decisive fifth one by winning the following two games.

In the fifth and last round, there was a clear dominance of the BR Volleys: They played a superior game throughout the game and became the champions for the eighth consecutive time in straight sets (3-0: 25-16, 25-16, 25-17). Marek Sotola (17 points) and Timothee Carle (15) completed the clash in double digits.

Now, the club league season is over for the teams except for two of them: We will watch Jastrzebski Wegiel one more time in the #CLVolleyM SuperFinals against Itas Trentino. You should definitely keep an eye on if they can continue to perform at their high level to complete the league season in the best way, or Trentino will become the best team of Europe.
