Premier Energy, one of Romania's leading electricity and natural gas suppliers, has announced a partnership with the CEV, thus becoming an official partner of the governing body responsible for Europe's major Volleyball competitions, including the elite CEV Champions League Volley.

"At Premier Energy, we believe that energy is about much more than infrastructure and services. It is about people, communities, and investing in initiatives that inspire future generations. That is why we have chosen to support Volleyball - a spectacular sport that promotes discipline, teamwork, respect, and excellence. Romania has a strong tradition in Volleyball, and we believe it deserves greater visibility and support," said Jose Garza, CEO of Premier Energy Group, commenting on the new partnership.

The partnership with CEV comes ahead of the CEV Champions League Volley 2027, Europe's flagship men's club volleyball competition, which will run from late October 2026 to mid-May 2027.

“The CEV Champions League Volley represents the real pinnacle of club Volleyball. I am happy that Premier Energy Group has recognised also its huge, rather still untapped commercial potential and we look forward to joining forces with our partner for the successful delivery of a competition that assembles the very best players from across the globe. This partnership is also a wonderful opportunity to capitalise on the enthusiasm and interest for men’s Volleyball generated by the CEV EuroVolley matches recently contested in Romania,” said CEV President Roko Sikirić.

Recognised as the world’s most prestigious club competition, the CEV Champions League brings together Europe's strongest volleyball clubs in a highly competitive and dynamic format. The group stage draw was held this past July in Luxembourg, resulting in a main round consisting of five groups of four teams each.

The competition will officially begin with the Early Rounds, scheduled from 20 October to 26 November 2026. The group stage (4th Round) will then be played between 8 December 2026 and 17 February 2027, followed by the Play-offs and Quarterfinals in March and April 2027, culminating in the Final Four scheduled for the late spring of 2027 (May 15-16).

A partnership with special significance for Romania

The collaboration with CEV also carries a strong symbolic dimension. What is now known as the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) is an organisation founded in 1973 that follows in the footsteps of the former European Sports Commission (ESC) established in Bucharest in 1963. Today, it brings together 56 national volleyball federations and governs all major European volleyball competitions for both national teams and clubs – as well as Beach Volleyball competitions ranging from age-group to ‘senior’ continental championships.
CEV is one of five continental confederations affiliated with the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).
