Ace meets fairy-tale friends in Baku

Once upon a time, there lived Ace, the famous and beloved mascot of European volleyball. When Ace travelled to Baku for CEV Trendyol EuroVolley 2026, he met new friends - Jirtdan and Goychek Fatma. Jirtdan was tiny, but quick-witted. Goychek Fatma was beautiful, graceful and kind-hearted.

So, there were three mascots, who enjoyed volleyball very much and lived happily ever after in the memories of the fans, who attended the 2026 European Championship in Baku.

That’s the short version of the fairy tale about EuroVolley 2026 in Azerbaijan. The long story is yet to be written – from Friday, August 21, to Friday, August 28, at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku – by the teams of Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Spain and hosts Azerbaijan, with Ace, Jirtdan and Goychek Fatma watching over and making sure there will be a happy end.

Jirtdan and Goychek Fatma are two of Azerbaijan’s beloved folk fairy-tale characters.

With his courage, quick wit, resourcefulness and endless energy, Jirtdan will lift the spirits of the fans in the stands.

Goychek Fatma, the Azerbaijani version of Cinderella, is a very intelligent and beautiful girl. With her grace, sincerity and a warm smile, she will make sure everyone feels the hospitality of Azerbaijan.

Goychek Fatma and Jirtdan are more than just mascots of the event; they are symbols of Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage, folk fairy tales and hospitality.

Through these two characters, sports fans, as well as local and international guests visiting the arena, will experience the warmth of the Caspian country and its love for volleyball.
