Filming glasses could help Croatia

Croatian libero Izabela Štimac is set to make her European Championship debut, but she also has an accessory making its own debut – a pair of glasses with a built-in camera.
Štimac was in a generous mood during Croatia's practice. While she tried to receive spikes from the team's outside hitters, such as Mika Grbavica and Maša Milnar, Croatia's assistant coach, Sanja Gamma Popović, got the chance to borrow Štimac's newly purchased glasses and follow the action by moving around the court and tracking the ball with her eyes.
Using glasses as a camera has been done before by elite volleyball players. One example is Swedish beach volleyball player Jonathan Hellvig.
Izabela Štimac“I think they offer a great perspective on the game – how the players move and how the ball behaves. It is much more complex than it appears to the crowd in the stands.”

She believes the glasses could boost Croatia's chances of reaching the playoffs, while after the tournament, the footage will serve another purpose.
“I think they can contribute to interesting social media content. This kind of material, showing what happens on and off the court from a first-person perspective, can provide deeper insight into what I do at a tournament of this calibre.”
