Ukraine wins the first final match of Golden #EuroLeagueW and takes important advantage

The first final match of the Women's CEV Volleyball European Golden League took place on a Thursday. The match between Ukraine and Sweden brought on a lot of excitement, but in the end, it was an “easy” win for the national team of Ukraine who has a 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-19) advantage going into the second match that will take place on Sunday.
Ukrainians dominated the first set completely. They walked into the match super confident and already had 7-2 advantage in the beginning. With three kill blocks and two aces, Ukrainians were a better team on the field and they presented that in the whole set. They soon had an eight-point lead (16-8) and closed the set by 25-15.
The second set brought on a different dynamic. Sweden went into a 0-2 lead but Ukraine soon turned things around (5-2 and 8-4). Sweden managed to equalize the set (9-9) but Ukraine once again turned the match to their advantage (14-10). Sweden got back once again (19-19) but in the end, it was Ukraine who secured another set, this time by 25-20.
The third set started off with a 3-0 lead for Ukraine but Sweden equalized it to 4-4 and the point-by-point play began. Ukraine separated once again at 13-10 and was getting closer and closer to the finish of the set, and match, as well. They closed it by 25-19 and Ukraine now has an important advantage when going into the second final match that will take place on Sunday. Make sure to catch it live on EuroVolley.TV!
