EEVZA Beach Volleyball zonal event combined with KARTVELA Cup in Tbilisi

The Eastern European Volleyball Zonal Association (EEVZA) and the Georgian Volleyball Federation are delivering this week a zonal double-gender Beach Volleyball event. The event combines a stop of the EEVZA Beach Volleyball Tour, which last visited Georgia in 2019, and the invitational KARTVELA Cup, which has taken place annually in Georgia with participation of teams from a variety of countries.

The competition gets underway on August 3 at the Ambassadori Kachreti Sports Resort, with the participation of teams from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, and hosts Georgia. The Georgian Volleyball Federation wishes to develop Beach Volleyball more and more and it expects such a competition with participation of other EEVZA countries to account for a step in the right direction. The event is held for the very first time in the eastern part of Georgia, where many youngsters will be able to attend a competition of this level. Through the efforts of CEV, EEVZA and the Ministry of Sports of Georgia, this event is expected to grow the popularity of the sport in the Caucasus country.

To help member Federations develop the game, EEVZA is always supporting events not only financially, but also with the possibility to educate local officials. Therefore, neutral international referees from EEVZA countries will be officiating the matches together with their colleagues from Georgi, so that these can improve their knowledge and abilities as well.
