Ehlers and Wickler crowned in Luxembourg
Queen & King of the Court European Finals
Germans Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler were crowned as the Kings of Europe on Saturday, when they won the Queen & King of the Court European Finals 2023 in Luxembourg.
The top German team competing internationally, the two became the second team to win the tournament, joining the 2022 champions, Norwegians Anders Mol and Christian Sørum, with their victory at the d’Coque.
Ehlers and Wickler adjusted extremely well to the dynamic and fast-paced competition format and have been nearly flawless in the last two days, winning eight of the nine rounds they played since the quarterfinals.
The Germans were on fire in the final as well, winning all three rounds, and took the title after they scored ten points to win the third and final round, overcoming Switzerland’s Marco Krattiger and Florian Breer, who got to eighth, and Polish Michal Bryl and Bartosz Łosiak, who reached five.
As many as 20 teams competed in the second edition of the Queen and King of the Court European Finals.
