C.S.M. TARGOVISTE claims hard-fought home win in #CEVCupW quarterfinals

C.S.M. TARGOVISTE of Romania claimed on Wednesday night their home match with Greece’s Olympiacos PIRAEUS scheduled for the quarterfinals of the women’s CEV Cup 2023. It was an incredibly intense and close matchup, with the home side eventually emerging victorious at the tiebreak after making up for a 1-2 deficit in sets (25-19, 23-25, 18-25, 25-17, 15-9).

C.S.M. TARGOVISTE have moved to the CEV Cup after failing to reach the knockout stage of the CEV Champions League. In a very difficult match with many twists and turns, the Romanian side won the first set before losing the subsequent two – but they did not give up and ultimately secured a 3-2 win. The re-match in Greece will define which side progresses to the semis to play there the winners of the quarterfinal double header between Romania’s C.S.M. Volei Alba BLAJ and Poland’s Budowlani LODZ.
