C.S.M. Targoviste reach the #CEVCup semifinals

Thursday night also determined the last semifinalist of the CEV Volleyball Cup 2023 - Women. C.S.M. Targoviste eliminated Olympiacos Piraeus, beating the team from Greece in Melina Merkouri Rentis. In the semifinals Targoviste will lock horns with their domestic rival CS Volei Alba Blaj.

Olympiacos PIRAEUS vs C.S.M. TARGOVISTE 1-3 (24-26, 13-25, 25-19, 16-25)

In the first quarterfinal battle C.S.M. Targoviste needed five sets to earn a win over Olympiacos Piraeus. Both teams were determined to grab the ticket to the last 4. The first set ended in overtime with 26-24 for Targoviste, who dominated in block 6-0! Mira Todorova had as many as 3 block stuffs to her name, once Jovana Mirosavljevic was a top scorer of Targoviste with 6 points. On the side of Piraeus, Maria Genitsaridi tallied 7.

The next part was a clear domination of Targoviste who won it 25-13, but the hosts were not giving up. Third part was Jaalia Winters' show. She scored 11 points, helping her Piraeus win the set 25-19. It was a cold shower for Targoviste, who returned to the court  fully focused to win the set, match and spot in the semifinals. Piraeus' Wilma Salas Rosell topped the scorers' chart  with 18 points. Once Ana Bjelica with 17 points was a hero of Targoviste. Once point less tallied Jovana Mirosavljevic.
