Scandicci with a huge step towards the #CEVCupW trophy
The Italians of Savino Del Bene Scandicci made a huge step towards the trophy in the CEV Volleyball Cup 2023 - Women as in the home match of the Final phase of the tournament, they outclassed at 3-1 the Romanian CS Volei Alba Blaj as guests.
However, nothing is over yet as the title deciding match is scheduled for next week in Italy (April 12), where the host team could lift the trophy in front of home crowds.

Reaching the Big Finale, Savino outperformed in the semis the Turkish THY Istanbul, while Alba Blaj did better than their compatriots of C.S.M. Targoviste.
On Wednesday, the guests from Italy stormed in the opener, completely dominating in attack (14 to nine) and on the kill blocks (five to one).
The second set turned out to be a tied one, but after a point-for-point race (15-15), Scandicci took control over what was happening on the court and got closer to the win thanks to 19 winning spikes (to 13).

The home team got back on their feet in the third set, when, despite the strong performance on the serve by their opponents, the players of head coach Stevan Ljubicic finished better on attack (17 to 14), and recorded three kill blocks (to zero).
However, the Italians did not let more surprises, and responded immediately with 15 winning spikes (to 11) and four kill blocks to two.
Zhu Ting of the winning team finished as top scorer (30 points) and grabbed the MVP award as well.
