The home factor was key to Romania and Finland this Saturday at the CEV Euro League.
Romania met North Macedonia at the Sports Hall Galati and dominated the first two sets. Errors cost many points to North Macedonia and, by the end of the second set, they were 42% of Romania`s points.
The game looked like it would be finished soon, but North Macedonia reacted. Serving and blocking better, the team won the two following sets, pushing the game to the tie break.
The final set was tight, and both teams summed points one by one. And that`s when the support from fans made a difference for Romania. After saving 2 match points, North Macedonia made a service error and Romania won their first match in the tournament.
Later today, Finland received Hungary in Akaa and the finish needed only 69 minutes to win three sets in a row and to celebrate in front of their families and friends. The finish team was especially efficient when serving and scored seven aces. Antti Sakari Makinen (FIN) was the top scorer of the match summing up 22 points in total.
