The 2025 season of Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Futures events in Europe enters its final month this week, when, for the last time in the year, two tournaments will take place simultaneously on the continent.

A silver medalist at the 2023 EuroBeachVolley, Dutch Leon Luini will play in Budapest this week

This week, the Hungarian capital Budapest and the Polish capital Krakow will be the stages for the action, with the former hosting a double-gender tournament and the latter welcoming a men-only event from Thursday to Sunday.

Set to return to the international calendar for the first time since 2022, when it hosted an event for the third time in history, the Hungarian capital will have the Budapest Garden as the venue for the tournament that will reunite 56 teams – 28 per gender.

The men’s tournament will have 17 countries represented – Hungary (5), Norway (3), Czechia (2), the Netherlands (2), the Philippines (2), Spain (2), Türkiye (2), Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland.

Norwegian brothers Markus and Adrian Mol are the top-seeded team in the men’s event – they will play in a Futures event for just the second time in the season after finishing fifth in Valencia, in May. Another attraction in the tournament will be the presence of Dutch Leon Luini, a silver medalist at the 2023 CEV EuroBeachVolley, who will share the court with Yannick Verberne this week.

On the women’s side, the 28 teams entered in the event represent 17 different countries – Hungary (5), Czechia (3), Finland (2), Israel (2), Lithuania (2), the Philippines (2), Spain (2), Bulgaria, Denmark, Greece, Japan, Latvia, Malta, Romania, Scotland, Slovakia and Slovenia.

Beach Pro Tour Budapest Futures – Women

Lithuanians Ieva Dumbauskaite and Gerda Grudzinskaite are the top-seeded women’s team this week in Budapest, followed by Spanish Ana Vergara and Nazaret Florian.

Men play first in Warsaw

In Warsaw, the men will start two consecutive weeks of action at the Plaża Wilanów, playing from Thursday to Sunday – the women will follow next week, from September 11-14. This will mark the ninth consecutive tournament held in the city since 2018.

Teams from 17 countries are set to compete this week in the Polish capital – Poland (6), Czechia (3), Germany (2), Latvia (2), Sweden (2), Ukraine (2), Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Estonia, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Morocco, Norway, Spain and Switzerland.

Beach Pro Tour Warsaw Futures – Men

Besides having the most teams, host Poland also have the two best-ranked duos in the event in Jedrzej Brozyniak/Piotr Janiak and Piotr Kantor/Filip Lejawa.

Both tournaments will follow similar schedules, starting with the qualifiers on Thursday, continuing with main pool play on Friday and the elimination rounds on Saturday and ending with the semifinals and medal matches on Sunday.

The Beach Pro Tour Futures events in Europe are run by the CEV in close cooperation with Volleyball World and provide teams from the continent with several opportunities to compete and gain valuable international ranking points.
