Bulgarian Black Sea resort to host national tour event open to foreign teams

The Bulgarian Black Sea resort of Sveti Vlas is bracing itself to welcome the country’s Beach Volleyball elite for an FIVB-homologated international tournament to take place from June 16 through 19. It will be the first-ever event on Bulgaria’s National Beach Volleyball Tour to offer points towards the FIVB World Ranking, in addition to an attractive prize purse of € 10,000.

The Marina Dinevi Beach Volleyball Tournament bears the name of a magnificent yacht port situated on the picturesque Venid Beach where the Balkan Mountains meet the Black Sea. The event location offers an array of restaurants, bars, relax zones, accommodation opportunities and breath-taking views that guarantee an unforgettable experience for participants and fans alike.

Sixteen Bulgarian and foreign teams per gender will play in the main draw of the tournament from Friday through Sunday of next week. If a larger number of pairs sign up to participate, qualifiers will be taking place on Thursday. The Bulgarian Volleyball Federation has set Tuesday, June 14, as the deadline for registration.

It will be the second stop on this year’s National Tour. The first one was in Sofia last week. Desislava Nikolova/Irena Mishonova, who won the women’s tournament, and Radostin Denkov/Dimitar Mehandzhiyski, who topped the men’s podium in the Bulgarian capital, will be among the teams starring in Sveti Vlas.
