The FIVB World Tour 2-Star Brno Beach Open 2021 continued on Friday with the Main Draw, featuring as many as four home teams representing the Czech Republic. Unfortunately, the weather was not that good for the spectators, as rain and sun took turns at the Brno Riviera all day long. All teams had to fight to deal with challenging weather conditions, but thanks to their skills, fans could still witness high-quality Beach Volleyball.

A great attraction on Friday morning was the Czech number one Barbora Hermannová, who chose youngster Michaela Břinková as her teammate for this tournament, in the absence of Markéta Nausch-Sluková. The first match against the German pair Chenoa Christ/Lisa-Sophie Kotzan ended in a 2-1 victory for the home favourites. Their second game included a little drama, but the Czech pair again managed to win 2-1 against the Americans Sara Hughes/Megan Kraft. It meant they finished first in their pool.

“Misa did very well in both of our matches in the group, which we won in a tiebreak. It is not easy, because the opponents are still looking for her with their service, but she is fighting very well. Thanks to that, we advance from first place in the group and in the next phase of the tournament, we should have an easier opponent – at least on paper. Winning the group is a great success."

Due to the inclement weather, it was not possible to finish the last match scheduled for Friday (Vitoria/Andressa of Brazil vs. Placette/Richard of France) - it will be the opening game on Saturday instead.
