Double gold for Iceland at SCA U19 Beach Volleyball Championships in Dublin

The newly installed inland beach facility at the Sport Ireland Campus was alive with energy and excitement as Ireland played host to the Small Countries Association (SCA) U19 Beach Volleyball Championships on August 1-2, 2025.
Young athletes from across six SCA associations (Andorra, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and Scotland) came together to compete in one of the most anticipated youth Beach Volleyball events of the year. The two-day tournament showcased the very best in under-19 talent and spectators were treated to high-level competition, vibrant atmosphere, and promising performances from the sport’s rising stars.
Hosted by Volleyball Ireland, the event marked another major step forward in the development of Beach Volleyball in the country and the wider region. With support from the CEV, SCA and Sport Ireland, the championship highlighted the growing popularity and competitiveness of Beach Volleyball among young athletes in Ireland and the SCA region.

The championship featured both men’s and women’s competitions, with exciting matchups across the draw. The standout performances throughout the weekend were a double gold for Iceland, winning both the men’s and women’s titles. In the women’s competition, Iceland had a bronze medal duo coming third behind Ireland who secured their first ever silver medal. On the men’s side, Scotland completed the podium with silver and bronze.
