Emanuele Monduzzi of Italy will be playing his last international competition later this week when he travels to Warsaw, Poland for a men’s-only Futures event. Monduzzi has been involved in international Beach Volleyball competitions for almost 30 years, with his debut coming in Durban (South Africa) a way back in 1996. Monduzzi will contest the event in Warsaw along with Oleksandr ‘Sasha’ Siedykh with their campaign starting from the qualification tournament.
Emanuele Monduzzi“I have met three generations of beachers and I have witnessed how Beach Volleyball has developed since its first appearance at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996. My career practically ended in 2018 but I have continued to play just because I love this game so much. Now, however, it is time to quit.”
Born in 1970, Monduzzi started playing internationally in 1996. His best results include a fifth place from a FIVB Satellite held in 2001 in Beirut, Lebanon. That same year he finished ninth at another FIVB Satellite in Pfaffikon, Switzerland. He currently serves as the President of PowerBeach, a club with more than 2,000 members based on the Adriatic coast and involved in the organisation of international camps and major events as well.
