The final day of the CEV Beach Volley European Cup 2025 Final at TUI Magic Life Candia Maris in Heraklion, Crete, brought this year’s edition to a spectacular close, with thrilling matches and two new champions emerging after unforgettable gold medal duels on the sands of Ammoudara.
In the women’s competition, the Sunrise Beach Sports Academy from Ukraine, led by European champion Tetiana Lazarenko, claimed the title with two victories over EDRA Tata from Hungary, one of them coming after a tense tie-break. The Ukrainian club displayed remarkable teamwork and composure to secure the European crown.
Tetiana Lazarenko“The hospitality here was amazing – you do not often find facilities like this anywhere else. The atmosphere and the crowd in Crete were fantastic, full of energy, and we had everything we needed to train, rest, and be at our best on the court. I am extremely happy we managed to get it done.”

The bronze medal went to KBC Oxyklinika from Lithuania, who needed the Golden Set to overcome CV Majadahonda from Spain in an intense third-place battle, thereby completing an excellent tournament for the representatives of the Baltic nation.
In the men’s tournament, Ré Beach Club from the small French island of Île de Ré, off the Atlantic coast, triumphed in spectacular fashion to capture the European title. The French team defeated ZVH Zevenhuizen from the Netherlands in a dramatic final that was decided in a Golden Set (16-14).
After finishing fifth at last year’s edition in Montpellier, Ré Beach Club, coached by the renowned former French national team setter and club founder Loïc De Kergret, reached the top of Europe. Remarkably, De Kergret – who celebrated the CEV Champions League title in 2005 in Thessaloniki, Greece, as a player with TOURS VB – lifted another European Cup trophy 20 years later, once again on Greek soil, this time in Heraklion, Crete, marking a unique milestone in his storied career.
Kéran Duval“Personally, for me and for the other players who live permanently on the island, this title means a lot. We started this journey without any support, driven only by our love for Beach Volleyball, and now we have reached the top. This is just the beginning.”

The men’s bronze medal was also decided in a Golden Set, with the Czech team BC Strahov prevailing over Sunrise Beach Sports Academy from Ukraine to claim a well-deserved place on the podium.
The medal ceremonies took place in an idyllic setting, as the sun set over Ammoudara Beach, painting the sky in warm colours and creating a spectacular backdrop for the celebration of the new European champions. It was a fitting finale to a memorable week of Beach Volleyball in Heraklion.
