The 2026 Beach Volleyball season is due to break all past records with an additional set of 13 Futures due to take place later this year after a previous announcement (see here) had confirmed the organisation of 15 such events for May, June, and early July alone.

Actually, the event in Apeldoorn will run from May 21-24, thereby providing an additional competition opportunity early in the season in a city that has literally become synonymous with Beach Volleyball after playing host to EuroBeachVolley both in 2018 and 2024 – as well as to a variety of domestic events in a country – the Netherlands – where Beach Volleyball is incredibly popular and successful. This additional event will allow the local organisers to further test operations ahead of this year’s U18 World Championships which are scheduled for early July in The Hague.

Moving to early July, as many as three Futures will be taking place concurrently in Leuven (Belgium), Malmö (Sweden), and Sibiu (Romania). While the double-gender event in Leuven has become a regular stop of the Beach Pro Tour, Malmö will welcome a men’s only competition for the second time only after last year’s successful premiere – with Sweden having developed into a real Beach Volleyball ‘Mecca’ after last year’s historic all-Swedish World Championship final featuring training partners David Åhman/Jonatan Hellvig and Elmer Andersson/Jacob Hölting Nilsson. The women’s only event in Sibiu will coincide with the first such tournament ever organised in the city in central Romania, located in the historical region of Transylvania.

Later in July (23-26), a men’s only competition will be taking place for the first time in Katowice, Poland, another real Volleyball stronghold, with the event held at the local Market Square and followed by a women’s tournament a week later at the very same venue. After the unfortunate cancellation of the competition planned for last year, Estonia’s capital city, Tallinn, returns to take its place on the continental Beach Volleyball map with a double gender Futures scheduled for August 19-22, followed by two double-gender events in Brno (Czechia) and Modena (Italy) a week later (August 27-30). Brno has been a regular stop of the Beach Pro Tour for many years, whereas the local organisers in Modena have decided to upgrade their WEVZA zonal event to a fully-fledged international competition.

With the Final of the Beach Nations Cup scheduled for mid-July in the vibrant and iconic Hungarian capital, Budapest will also welcome a Futures event in early September (3-6) followed by two more such competitions in Warsaw and Corigliano Rossano. The Polish capital city did usually host single-gender events on consecutive weeks but this time the organisers will raise the bar even higher with men and women competing concurrently from September 10-13. The Italian seaside resort in the southern region of Calabria, on the other hand, will feature again on the Beach Pro Tour calendar after last year Corigliano Rossano welcomed the rising stars of the game and crowned the U18 European champions.

The season will continue even further beyond September with the popular holiday destination of Alanya, Türkiye, wrapping things up with a double-gender event scheduled for October 15-18, thereby fully exploiting the ideal climate and weather conditions offered by the Turkish Riviera even in early autumn.
