The Swiss city of Geneva is set to be the stage for Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour action in Europe for a second-straight week, but this time it’s going to be the women competing at the lakefront La Rotonde du Mont-Blanc from Thursday to Sunday.
The same venue that hosted a men’s tournament last weekend will now welcome the women, with 27 female duos set to get on the court over the next four days.
Switzerland were very successful at last week’s men’s event, taking home all three medals in play, and will try to repeat the podium sweep with the women. The host country has eight teams entered in the event, four of which start directly in the main draw.
The event in Geneva will count on duos from 14 countries and three nations other than Switzerland have multiple teams – the United States (5), Canada (2) and Germany (2). Argentina, Australia, Czechia, France, Hungary, Lithuania, Japan, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden have one duo each.

The four Swiss teams entered in the main draw are Menia Bentele/Annique Niederhauser, Muriel Bossart/Nadine Demierre, Linda Abbühl/Livia Stolz and Zoé Flückiger/Jasmine Wandeler.
The biggest obstacles standing between the home teams and the podium in Geneva should be top-seeded Lithuanians Ieva Dumbauskaite and Gerda Grudzinskaite, who claimed a silver and a bronze medal in four appearances in Futures events in 2025.
A new team for the 2025 season, Dutch Mexime Van Driel and Kirsten Bröring, who will play together for the first time this week in Geneva, also have the potential to make a strong run this week in the Swiss event.
The tournament will start on Thursday, with the qualifier, where the 15 teams entered will compete for the last four spots in the main draw. Pool play will be held on Friday, with the Round of 12 and the quarterfinals taking place on Saturday. The semifinals and medal matches will end the event on Sunday.
The Beach Pro Tour Futures events in Europe are run by the CEV in close cooperation with Volleyball World and provide teams from the continent with several opportunities to compete and gain valuable international ranking points.
