The highest ranked team in the world, the "Flying Swedes" Åhman/Hellvig disposed of the Brazilians Evandro/Arthur in the minimum amount of sets (21-17, 21-16) to potentially set up a repeat of their match from the pool phase against the team from Qatar that defeated them in the pool phase, Cherif/Ahmed.

In the other men's quarter-final of the day, the all-European battle between Germany and The Netherlands was won by the German duo, Ehlers/Wickler in two sets (22-20,21-15), which are set to meet another European team in the semis, the winner of the match Herrera/Gavira (ESP)/ Mol A./Sørum, C. The way things have fallen into place, Europe is already guaranteed at least the Silver Medal in the men's competition.

On the women's side, we had both Swiss teams in action, unfortunately only one of them made it through. Reigning European Champs, Hüberli/Brunner made good work in disposing of the Americans, Hughes/Cheng in two sets (21-18, 21-19), while the other Swiss pair, Esmée/Zoé fought all the way through but had to admit defeat following a highly disputed tie-break (21-19, 16-21,15-12).

Two more women's teams will get on the court today in Paris, former European Champs from Latvia, Tina/Anastasija and the always surprising pair from Spain, Alvarez M/ Moreno.
