Incredible women's final at the CEV EuroBeachVolley 2025 saw a historic moment for Ukraine as Maryna Hladun and Tetiana Lazarenko fought hard to claim the first ever Gold Medal for their country.
The French, invincible so far in the tournament, had to fight their way back in the first set. However, in the second part, they gained the most slender of leads, enough to claim the first set and with it, place one hand on the trophy.
The Ukrainians were not going to give up on the chance of a lifetime easily and came on the court extremely motivated for the second set. Ferocious beach volleyball played by both teams, but it was Ukraine that claimed the seconed set, setting up an incredible tie-breaker.
Once again, the Ukrainians started off better, but in a now familiar fashion, the French kept fighting their way back maintaining suspense throughout the tie-break. The ending was incredible, the Ukrainians winning the first medal ever for their country and now becoming the new European Champions.
Maryna Hladun"We can't believe it, this is crazy! I think we deserve it, all the hard work we did in the last three years, we went through a lot of physical and mental things, we fought through and we won!"

In the Bronze Medal match, last year's champions, Germany's Muller/Tillman made sure that they will be on the podium once again. They saw off opposition from Spain's Alvarez/Moreno in straight sets, giving the enthusiastic crowd more reasons to cheer.
