The second half of the two weeks of action of the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour in Warsaw is set to begin on Thursday, when the women get on the court for the first time in the Futures event held in the Polish capital.

Marta Lodej and Julia Kielak will be among the teams representing hosts Poland this week in Warsaw

The women’s tournament will take place one week after the men’s event at the Plaża Wilanów and will feature 28 teams from four continents in the battle for the medals.

As many as 17 countries will be represented in this week’s event, with host Poland featuring five teams, Czechia and Lithuania having three, Canada, Chile and Slovakia sending two and Australia, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Romania, Switzerland and the United States relying on one each.

Beach Pro Tour Warsaw Futures – Women

If hosts Poland left last week's event empty-handed, it could be different this time as the country has the two top-seeded teams in the tournament in Urszula Lunio/Natalia Okla and Marta Lodej/Julia Kielak.

Among their main challengers for the top spot on the podium should be Lithuania’s Ieva Vasiliauskaite/Erika Kliokmanaite and Finland’s Anniina Parkkinen/Valma Vilhelmiina Prihti.

The tournament starts with the qualifier on Thursday and continues with main draw pool play on Friday and the elimination rounds on Saturday, and ends with the semifinals and medal matches on Sunday.

The Beach Pro Tour Futures events in Europe are run by the CEV in close cooperation with Volleyball World and provide teams from the continent with several opportunities to compete and gain valuable international ranking points.
