American middle blocker Taylor Averill has joined the ranks of Projekt WARSZAWA. The 31-year-old player will soon compete for Projekt WARSZAWA in the PlusLiga – as well as in the CEV Challenge Cup.

The 31-year-old middle blocker represented Indykpol AZS OLSZTYN in the past two seasons, and he will soon appear in the jersey of the team from the Polish capital.

“An opportunity to sign Taylor Averill appeared on the market, which we took advantage of, and this is a sign that shows that we are seriously thinking about this season. Our current place in the charts makes us optimistic, but we want to have a complete team in view of the injuries of two of our players to maintain the right intensity and a high level in training and during the matches as well,” said the Vice-President and Sports Director of Projekt WARSZAWA, Piotr Gacek.

The American is a 2018 World Championship bronze medallist and 2023 Nations League silver medallist with Team USA. Averill was born in Portland, Oregon, and began his Volleyball career at UC Irvine and the University of Hawaii. In 2015, he moved to Padova in Italy and in 2017/2018 he represented the colours of Power Volley MILANO. In the following years he played in France, and in 2021 he was transferred from AS CANNES VB to Indykpol AZS.

“I am glad that I will soon join Projekt WARSZAWA, which already looks great looking at the PlusLiga games. I cannot wait to meet the Warsaw fans, I cannot wait to return to Poland, which I love, and feel the best atmosphere in the local arenas. I am very pleased that I will be playing in the largest and one of the most charming cities in Poland - Warsaw. See you on the court!”
