Arkas IZMIR secure second trophy of 2024/2025 season

Arkas IZMIR is going from triumph to triumph at such an early stage of the 2024/2025 season. After recently claiming the BVA Cup thereby securing their participation in the CEV Volleyball Challenge Cup, Arkas claimed also the 2024 edition of the Men’s AXA Sigorta Champions Cup by defeating domestic rivals Halkbank ANKARA 3-0 (26-24, 27-25, 25-21). Halkbank – together with Fenerbahçe – is due to represent Türkiye in the 2025 edition of the elite CEV Champions League. 

Turkish Volleyball Federation President Mehmet Akif Üstündağ and AXA Sigorta Türkiye CEO Yavuz Ölken presented the trophy to Arkas captain Burutay Subaşı. The ‘Most Valuable Player’ award for the match went to the German opposite hitter of Arkas, György Grozer, who – at almost 40 years of age – continues to impress and to leave his mark on the court after representing Germany at the Paris Olympic Games earlier this summer.
