The fourth matchday of the 4th round of the CEV Champions League Women is upon us, so we are getting back into the groove with the CEV Champions League Women Fantasy, after the first rounds saw a fairly successful performance from our team.

The first-of-its-kind experience for CEV, gives fans the opportunity to become the coach of their own team across the men’s and women’s European premium competitions. Fans can pick a team of twelve players with specific assigned positions inside a dedicated team budget of 100 million euros.

Haven’t you already signed in and chosen your team? Don’t worry, we got you covered.

So, the rules are quite simple and can be found here. To start, you must select a squad of 12 players with an initial budget of 100 million fantasy euros. The initial squad selection must consist of: three outside hitters, three middle blockers, two setters, two liberos and two opposites. You must select 7 players from your squad of 12 players to form your starting roster for each game week.

Of course, the risk of having a player not featuring on the court is high, so you will also have five reserves in the team, who can come on, provided the stars are not playing. We have learnt and adapted and now we get ready to our fourth draft in the CEV Champions League Women Fantasy.

KEY STARS
Ekaterina Antropova (€13m): Antropova is becoming a key star in her own regard in the CEV Champions League Women and had a fantastic outing in the last round, in Scandicci’s 3:0 win against BKS Bostik ZGO Bielsko-Biala. Her 28 points on the court – a game-high – translated into 104 points in the CEV Champions League Fantasy Game, a huge boost for Antropova’s total of 183 points, basically doubling her overall tally. More is expected of her, as Scandicci aim for their fourth win in the 4th round, as Antropova has the largest average number of points per set this season, 8.17.

Magdalena Stysiak (€12.5m): The Polish outside hitter has 181 points in the Fantasy game so far, being the third best on her position, only 13 points shy of the leader, Marina Markova. Stysiak has been Fenerbahce’s main weapon this season and has scored 51 points in the European premium competition, an average of 5.1 points per set. So far, the Turkish side has conceded only one set, winning all three matches and will be big favourites against Vasas Obuda Budapest, the only team which took a set so far from Fenerbahce.

Agnieszka Korneluk (€10.5m): Rzezsow’s middle blocker has the largest number of blocks this season, 11, an average of 1.1 per set. She is also the Polish side’s best scorer, with 35 points and her last match saw Korneliuk add 70 points to her overall tally in the Fantasy game. With the Polish side clearly favoured against Zagreb, she should be in for a big haul again.

KEY DIFFERENTIAL

Marina Markova (€8.5m): VakifBank have enjoyed a fantastic start of the season, with three wins in three matches and only a set dropped so far. And Marina Markova has been a key ingredient in their recipe for winning, including a clear 3:0 win over Numia Vero Volley Milano in the last round. The Russian star has scored 49 points so far, being on an average of 5.44 points per set, which will suit her well against FC Porto, a team which is battling for survival, after losing two of their first three matches.
