As the club season nears its climax, Europe's elite teams continue to fight on multiple fronts, and crucial domestic league clashes will take place this weekend. In Italy, three #CLVolleyW semifinalists will seek to take the next step toward the national final. In Poland and Germany, quarterfinal battles will wrap up, determining the final teams to advance in their respective leagues.
In Italy, all three CEV Champions League Volley semifinalists—A. Carraro Imoco Volley Conegliano, Numia Vero Volley Milano, and Savino Del Bene Scandicci—will take the court for the second leg of the Serie A1 semifinals. Conegliano, the reigning champion, dominated CEV Cup finalist Igor Gorgonzola Novara in the opening match and now has the chance to secure a spot in the national finals. However, Novara will enter the match with renewed confidence after winning the first leg of the CEV Cup final against Alba Blaj. A highly motivated Novara could pose a greater challenge this time, making this a must-watch encounter.
Meanwhile, a massive showdown awaits between Milano and Scandicci. Milano took full control of the first match, securing a dominant 3-0 victory, but Scandicci is far from ready to concede. With their season on the line, they will fight to force a deciding match and keep their championship hopes alive. Given the intensity of past matchups between these two, another thrilling battle is expected.
In Poland, the quarterfinal stage of the Tauron Liga will conclude, determining the last team to reach the semifinals. Three teams—Developres Rzeszow, BKS Bostik Bielsko-Biala, and PGE Grot Budowlani Lodz—have already secured their spots, but the final place remains up for grabs. LKS Commercecon Lodz and Mielec will face off in a winner-takes-all battle, with Lodz aiming to continue their strong season and Mielec looking to pull off a stunning upset.
Similarly, in Germany, the 1. Bundesliga quarterfinals will reach their conclusion as teams battle for a place in the semifinals. SSC Palmberg Schwerin, Allianz MTV Stuttgart, Dresdner SC, and Suhl are in the driver's seat after winning their opening matches. However, their opponents will be fighting to force a decisive third match. With the German title race heating up, every set will be crucial.
This weekend will be pivotal across multiple leagues, with teams either securing a place in the final rounds or seeing their championship dreams come to an end. As the domestic and European competitions progress, these matches will be key in shaping the season’s final stretch.
