Eczacıbaşı ISTANBUL claims another win in #CLVolleyW

Tuesday evening marked the beginning of the new #CLVolleyW Leg, starting with the match between Eczacıbaşı Dynavit ISTANBUL and Maritza PLOVDIV. The team from Istanbul managed to defeat the Bulgarian representative by a clear 3-0 score (25-19, 25-20, 25-19).

While both teams started the first set of the match effectively and evenly (14-14), the team from Istanbul took the lead from the middle of the set and won the set 25-19. 

Eczacıbaşı won the second set by 25-20 with consecutive points by their blocks and effective serves, making the score 2-0. Outside hitter Yaprak Erkek came to the fore in this set with her five attack points.

Continuing their dominance in the last set, the team from Istanbul won the set by 25-19 and the match itself by 3-0, getting their third victory in the CEV Champions League. 

With the 10 points she scored, Yaprak Erkek was chosen as the most valuable player of the match. Irina Voronkova and Hande Baladın played an important role in winning the match with the ten points they scored. 

Eczacıbaşı is now second in Pool B with nine points, behind Scandicci who also has nine points but one match less than the club from Istanbul.

"We are very happy. A very good team play was demonstrated today. My teammates also supported me a lot. I thank them very much. It was our last match before the Club World Championship. We will give our full effort will be for this tournament. We want to achieve the best results there and return to the future."
