This weekend, the #CLVolleyM teams will try to put the long and challenging 2024 an end in the best way. For the Italian powerhouses, this will be the case for advancing to the next round in Italian Cup, since the quarterfinals will take place. At the same time, the Polish ones will hold a relatively comfortable weekend, and Giesen will play another huge game in Germany.
Two CEV Champions League Volley contenders from Italy, Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia, and Allianz Milano, will take the court in the quarterfinal round of the domestic cup. On Sunday, Milano’s opponent will be Cucine Lube Civitanova, and this clash will definitely be worth following. Perugia will face Modena on Monday to become the last team to book their spot in the next round.
The Polish #CLVolleyM powerhouses will have a relatively comfortable weekend this time: Both Jastrzebski Wegiel, Projekt Warszawa, and Aluron CMC Warta-Zawiercie will meet teams that have a lower place in the charts. These three squads filled the first three spots in the previous 17 weeks. While this will not change after the completion of the round, each team should still give their best on the court, since they will not want the gap to decrease among their followers.
Helios Grizzlys Giesen, the CEV Champions League Volley club from Germany will have another task to do: After suffering two consecutive defeats, they will now visit Friedrichshafen in the 14th leg of the German 1. Bundesliga. Giesen is currently in sixth place, with 8 victories and a total of 23 points. They have failed against BR Volleys and Herrsching, therefore they are aware that if they want to rise up to higher places, it will be a good opportunity to start from this week.
As the year’s final weekend unfolds, #CLVolleyM teams aim to close 2024 on a high note, with varying goals across leagues. In Italy, Perugia and Milano will compete for semifinal spots in the Italian Cup. Meanwhile, the Polish will enjoy a comparatively easier weekend, aiming to maintain their top standings. Fans can expect an action-packed weekend as teams pursue their respective objectives.
