In the most anticipated match of this weekend, Lodz beat their biggest opponent Rzeszow and remained undefeated, while three of the CEV Champions League Volley quarterfinalists held five-set battles in Italy.

Two CEV Champions League Volley participants, Developres Rzeszow, and LKS Commercecon Lodz faced off in the 17th round of the Polish Tauron Liga.

Even though it was expected to be more challenging, the Lodz side played a better game and took the victory in three sets (3-0: 25-19, 25-20, 27-25). Thanks to this huge win, they remained undefeated in the league and ended the week in the top position.

Italian opposite Valentina Diouf became the top-scorer of the match with 19 points in total. The young Polish middle blocker Weronika Centka was the only player who scored in double digits in Rzeszow.

All three #CLVolleyW quarterfinalists had difficulties in their clashes. In the most surprising one, the last SuperFinalist A. Carraro Imoco Volley Conegliano hosted Wash4green Pinerolo in the 20th week of the Italian Serie A1.

Although Imoco was the absolute pre-favorite of the clash, Pinerolo put a great effort on the court and tied the sets in 2-2. In the last breath, experience and quality led Imoco to win the battle by 3-2 (22-25, 25-22, 25-22, 23-25, 15-12).

On the winning side, American outside hitter Kathryn Plummer was the most productive player with 22 points, whereas Italian Marina Lubian set up five blocks. Italian opposite Valentina Zago’s 23 points were not enough for the victory in Pinerolo.

In another challenging battle in Italy, Vero Volley Milano met CEV Cup participant Savino Del Bene Scandicci. The visitor side found a 2-1 lead in sets, but Milano took the fourth one to extend the match to a tie-break. However, Scandicci overpowered their rivals in the fifth set and took a significant victory to remain in the vice-leader position (3-2: 25-22, 26-28, 25-22, 21-25, 15-7).

Russian opposite Ekaterina Antropova (25) and Chinese superstar Zhu Ting (19) led their teams with outstanding performances, while American Jordan Thompson tallied 28 on Milano.

In the 21st leg of the French Ligue A1 Women, the #CLVolleyW play-offer Volero Le Cannet visited TFOC. By taking a 3-0 (25-23, 25-13, 25-16) victory over their important rival, they closed the gap among the other teams.

With clear victories by 3-0 in Poland and France, #CLVolleyW play-off teams did an excellent job in court this weekend, and now they will all focus on the rematches of the CEV Champions League Volley playoffs.
