CEV Champions League Volley 2024 | Women
Tick-tock! There are only a few hours left until the lines are closed and the game begins! For the first time in history, both die-hard and casual volleyball fans can watch the matches in the CEV Champions League with even more attention, as the CEV Champions League Fantasy throws off.
The first-of-its-kind experience for CEV, gives fans the opportunity to become the coach of their own team across the men’s and women’s European premium competitions. Fans can pick a team of twelve players with specific assigned positions inside a dedicated team budget of 100 million euros.
And it gets even better! You can select a captain, which will bring the double number of points to your squad. And you can even challenge your friends to see who’s got the better knowledge and who had the better picks throughout the whole competition.
Haven’t you already signed in and chose your team? Don’t worry, we got you covered.
So, the rules are quite simple and can be found here. To start, you must select a squad of 12 players with an initial budget of 100 million fantasy euros. The initial squad selection must consist of: three outside hitters, three middle blockers, two setters, two liberos and two opposites. You must select 7 players from your squad of 12 players to form your starting roster for each game week.
Of course, the risk of having a player not featuring on the court is high, therefore the replacements will get in your squad if that is the case. But for our first draft in the CEV Champions League Women Fantasy, we went on the high road and took a risk, investing the core of our budget in the starting seven for this opening round.
KEY STARS
Gabriela Guimaraes (€13m): The MVP of the 2021/22 season in the European premium competition has changed teams and moved from VakifBank Istanbul to A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano. The Brazilian superstar was the 14th top scorer last season, with 113 points, despite playing only nine matches. In the first matches of the season in the Italian league, she had a 46.6% reception percentage and is undoubtedly a huge weapon for the Italian side this season.
Ekaterina Antropova (€13m): The rising star of the Italian and European volleyball is a scoring machine. Last season, the Savino Del Bene Scandicci opposite scored 175 points in the European premium competition, with 175 points, an average of 5.83 points per match, the third best scorer. Now, in the Italian league, Antropova has scored 136 points in seven matches, proving she is in top form and deserving of a place in the squad.
Anna Danesi (€10m): The Paris 2024 Olympic Games All-Star middle blocker is on a fantastic run of form and returning to the CEV Champions League Women should see her star for Numia Vero Volley Milano. Danesi has 94 points scored for Milano in the Italian league, and is also the top blocker in the competition, with 24 blocks in seven matches.
KEY DIFFERENTIAL
Hena Kurtagic (€7m): The 20-year-old middle blocker has been a breath of fresh air in her maiden season for Numia Vero Volley Milano. The Serbian rising star has been special in the domestic league, already blocking 14 balls and is reasonably priced in the CEV Champions League Fantasy.
Hot on the heels of the CEV Champions League Volley 2025 Fantasy Game, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Match Predictor Game — adding even more excitement to the world’s most prestigious club volleyball competition.
