PIACENZA determined to seal #CEVCupM semi-final spot
News
After their setback in Game 1 of the national league Playoff quarterfinals that lasted for more than two hours of play, Gas Sales Bluenergy PIACENZA returns to the European stage as they take to the court at PalabancaSport for the second leg of the CEV Volleyball Cup quarterfinals, where they will be facing German side BERLIN Recycling Volleys.
At stake is a place in the semi-finals of the CEV Volleyball Cup, which is the second most important annual European club competition. After beating the German team 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-18) in the first leg played a week ago in Germany, Gas Sales Bluenergy ‘only’ needs to win two sets to secure a place in the next round of the competition.
Ninni De Nicolo, Sports Director at Gas Sales Bluenergy PIACENZA: “We start with the advantage of having won the first leg, but we need to play well in order to qualify for the semis without any sort of hindrance. We will certainly face an opponent who has nothing to lose and can play freely, so they will have a different approach from last Wednesday’s match. We will need to approach the match in the best possible way, leaving Sunday’s loss behind us and not thinking about next Saturday’s match against MODENA. We need to focus solely on this match because it represents the opportunity to achieve our goal and that of the club.”
